  • Both games will debut in 2022 in the form of a board game, with the OSRS gold game coming out via Kickstarter and the TTRPG is set to hit stores. The games will draw inspiration from adventures, characters and locations in RuneScape's vast 21-year history, with the board game requiring one to five players on quest-based adventures through Gielinor.

They'll make and improve their equipment, upgrade their characters and cook up special dishes, engage with NPCs and test their abilities while exploring various regions across the globe, and with a variety of enticing side quests to distract and entertain them along the journey.

The TTRPG is an extravagantly illustrated, hardback, core book that includes rules for players to run the RuneScape tabletop game of roleplay, with the possibility of creating the characters of their choice, discover Gielinor and design unique and exciting adventures. The TTRPG core book is fully compatible with the rules of fifth edition of the tabletop game that plays roleplaying.

Phil Mansell, CEO of Jagex stated "After nearly 21 years exclusively available digitally I'm extremely excited to be collaborating with Steamforged to create and launch new RuneScape adventure-based adventures for tabletop gamers."

Mat Hart, Creative director and CCO of Steamforged said: "The rich RuneScape universe will be a great fit for tabletop and buy OSRS GP, and the use of crowdfunding platforms and other dedicated community spaces will allow us to connect directly with the fans of RuneScape or Old School RuneScape throughout development."
