Game developer and publisher of RuneScape

  • Despite the close relationship to Melvor Idle and OSRS Gold, and the involvement direct of Jagex, the publisher opted to maintain the game as an original IP instead of to make it the official RuneScape spin-off. In part, this was acknowledgment that Malcolm had succeeded where Jagex did not.

"We considered the idea of creating the idle RuneScape game a number of years ago, with RuneScape: Idle Adventures," Pfeiffer says. "In Alpha, we stopped development to focus attention on core RuneScape games.

We have always believed that RuneScape's possibilities are vast in idle space and Melvor Idle proves that RuneScape is a game that can help you create an amazing idle game. But Melvor Idle stands up on its own merits too, which is why we decided to stay faithful to the idea of Melvor Idle that Brendan first began making the game."

He also highlights the success of Melvor Idle as evidence that talent can emerge from any game's community that Jagex has already discovered. "We've always discovered this RuneScape game community a great supply of people for Jagex Not just in the realm of game developers but all the roles within a games studio," he says. "RuneScape has over 300 million accounts created in the last 20 years. So the number of skilled players that have played the game is massive."

Following the success of the partnership and collaboration with Games By Malcs, Pfeiffer is keen to work more work with indie developers around the world if they're working on ideas that "align with the philosophy of design that RuneScape has and Jagex's fundamental values" And he hopes Melvor Idle's success will inspire more indie developers to reach out to the studio.

With the latest version 1.0 of Melvor Idle being released, Games By Malcs and Jagex are in the process of collaborating on future content, including future titles set in the Melvor universe. Malcolm remains grateful to Jagex for its constant assistance, particularly when it involves introducing new players.

"They are also excellent at making sure Melvor Idle is able to reach more players than I've ever been able to do by myself, both players in the RuneScape community, and even outside of it," said the author. "With the launch of the full version in the near future, I'm excited getting to work with Jagex on both making Melvor Idle an even greater achievement, and on further projects."

Echoes of Yore is the name of the new MMORPG created by indie developer Gellyberry Studios. It is said to be a reminiscence of classics like RuneScape and Tibia and plays in iso perspective. The game's focus is on finding crafting, creating, and building your own home and taking a high risk in deep dungeons.

What kind of game is this? Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore intends to revive old classics using a new engine. You design a character that is not tied to any class with Cheap RS Gold, but is instead defined through the use of skills and equipment. You can then take a trip into the world Irumesa.
